Our patch
Where Asset Plumbing & Drainage work
We cover the Shore properly rather than claiming all of Auckland. That runs from Devonport and the peninsula through Takapuna, Milford and the bays out to Torbay and Long Bay, across Glenfield, Northcote, Birkenhead and Beach Haven, out to Albany and Greenhithe, and up the Hibiscus Coast through Silverdale to Orewa.
The reason to keep it that tight is travel. Two people covering a defined area can get to jobs and can get back when something needs a second visit. The same two people covering greater Auckland could do neither.
The housing across that area is not uniform, which is the useful part. A Devonport villa and an Albany townhouse fail in completely different ways, and knowing what is likely behind a wall before opening it saves time on almost every job.
If you are on the edge of it
Ring and ask rather than guessing. Travel time affects whether a small job is worth doing on its own, and we would rather tell you that on the phone than turn it into an awkward conversation about the invoice afterwards.

Local differences
Why the suburb actually matters
It is not a marketing detail. Housing age and terrain genuinely change the job.
The peninsula and the older bays
Devonport, Cheltenham, Stanley Bay and Northcote Point are villa country with heritage constraints. Original galvanised supply, subfloors on piles and bathrooms added to houses that were never designed to have them.
Takapuna, Milford and the beach end
Apartments and body corporate buildings alongside 1950s and 1960s houses. Shared risers and notice periods for water shut-off change how a job is scheduled more than how it is done.
Glenfield, Birkdale and the west
Mostly 1970s and 1980s housing with a lot of rentals. Copper and early plastics, and the recurring small repairs that a tenanted property generates.
Albany, Rosedale and the north
Newer housing plus commercial and light industrial. Less corrosion, more compliance. Backflow devices and warrant of fitness items are a bigger share of the work up here.
Not on the list? If your suburb is not shown, it may still be within reach. Ring and ask. We would rather tell you honestly that it is a long way than take the job and do it badly.
Drainage
Below-ground work across the same area
If your problem is outside the building line and below ground, that is drainlaying rather than plumbing, and it is handled by the same business on a separate site.
Drain laying, drain repairs and relaying, blocked main lines, CCTV drain surveys, stormwater, subsoil and septic tanks all sit there, across the same North Shore and Hibiscus Coast area.
You do not need to work out which you need before ringing. Describe what you are seeing and we will tell you.

Questions
Questions about our service area
Do you charge more for suburbs further away?
Travel is a real cost on a small job and we will be upfront about it rather than burying it. For a full day’s work anywhere on the Shore it makes no practical difference. For a thirty minute repair at the far end of the Hibiscus Coast it might mean we suggest combining it with something else or tell you it is not worth our call-out. Either way you hear it on the phone, not on the invoice.
Can you get to Orewa and Silverdale?
Yes, the Hibiscus Coast is part of our regular area along with Silverwater and the surrounding stretch. As with anywhere at the edge of a service area, a small standalone job is worth a quick conversation first so we can tell you honestly whether the timing works that week.
Why does each suburb have its own page?
Because the housing is genuinely different and the problems follow the housing. What fails in a Devonport villa is not what fails in an Albany townhouse, and the useful thing to read before ringing a plumber is what tends to go wrong in a house like yours. Each page covers what we get called about most in that suburb and what drives the cost there.
Do you cover central Auckland or West Auckland?
Not routinely. We keep to the North Shore and the Hibiscus Coast because two people covering a defined area can actually get to jobs and get back for a second visit when one is needed. Spreading across greater Auckland would make both of those worse, which helps nobody.
